Sound Bath Relaxation & Refreshments: The Yoga Company

Sound Bath Relaxation with Breathwork for Instant Stress Relief.

Join me for a unique evening of deep relaxation.

Breathwork for Instant Stress Relief

Breathing well is essential to our health & wellbeing. Using the principles of yoga pranayama I will teach you simple and accessible breathing techniques to activate your parasympathetic (rest & digest) nervous system to slow your heart rate, help to lower your blood pressure and evoke a sense of calm as we slow down into deep relaxation. The breathing techniques you will learn can be used every day to simply slow down, reduce tension in your body and to find a sense of calmness.

Sound Bath

My sound baths are truly immersive, and something you would never have experienced before ….

I use my instruments to create a soundscape of continuous sound, so you can focus on deep calm and peaceful relaxation.

A marriage of the ancient acoustic instrumental practice with live loops for added texture and tension - my sound baths are unique!

I start with a focus on your breath, and guide you into a state of relaxation, where you can simply relax and be bathed in a beautiful kaleidoscope of sound. The session will conclude with a guided grounding where I enable you to connect again with your body, the space and the present.

This isn’t just some wellness ‘woo-woo’ - scientific research suggests that we respond to sound vibration at a cellular level, and the ambient music you will hear during this workshop is designed to alter the brainwave state for healing.

Of the five frequencies (beta, alpha, theta, delta & gamma) that our brain experiences, the theta brainwave range is the one in which the body and mind’s natural healing processes are activated and optimised. Theta brainwaves are present during deep relaxation, dreaming, meditation and hypnosis. Theta brainwaves can be a source of creativity, intuition, increased memory, and enhanced concentration.

Using my experience as a musician and training as a sound therapist (Foundation Certificate in Sound Healing) I create my sound baths to help you quieten your mind, decrease the perception of stress, and bring attention into your body in order to allow you to become centred, grounded and begin to find purpose.

Sound baths can be more easily accessible to individuals who find traditional methods of mindfulness and meditation more difficult to access, so this could be a good way to invest in your mental wellbeing in a peaceful, non-judgmental environment.

Exclusivity

My workshops are always very popular, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

How life Moves is about adapting to change including ageing and reduced mobility.

A subtle difference to working with Chair Yoga – this session aims to remind us of the evolutionary pathway that we all are on and to explore how different people require different adaptations at various stages.

Topics will include:

  • Stiffening of the fascia and the effects of gravity on our bodies

  • The effects of the ageing process on muscles and joints

  • Playful movement how to generate feelings of wellbeing

  • Soma and the mind-body continuum

Yoga & Resilience: Claire Hall

How can we use Yoga to be more resilient?

Storms will come, how can we ride the storms, what can we learn from them and how can we come out stronger? The ancient teachings of Patanjali offer answers to all these questions and give us guidance on how to build resilience in our lives. During this day we will explore how these teachings can guide us towards being more resilient beings - through asana, pranayama, mudra, mantra, meditation and relaxation.

This CPD day is very relevant to the current way we live. How to be more resilient in the world we live in is so important not only for ourselves but for the students we teach. Storms are certain in our lives, we cannot avoid them. Being resilient means we can live our lives fully and be ready to meet any pain as it comes.

We will draw on the ancient teachings of Patanjali from a more contemporary view point and look at how they are even more relevant today in helping us become more resilient. Through asana, pranayama, mudra, meditation, mantra and Yoga Nidra the day will invite an opportunity to observe the self, open the heart, build strength and let things flow. It will draw on new contemporary commentary of the sutras, which will offer a more refreshing viewpoint, which is very relevant to today and the lives we lead. Practices we will share include: various asana, kapalabhati, hridaya mudra, gayatri mantra, antar mouna, meta meditation and yoga nidra. We will notice and reflect on how these practices make us feel within the session and onwards into our practice and/or teaching.

The day is aimed at both yoga teachers and students. Offering a chance to share the knowledge with students who may need a practice to build resilience or just for yourself and your own personal development and practice.

This is a BWY CPD event. Please go to the BWY website (https://portal.bwy.org.uk/user/events/841) to book your place; don’t forget to log in if you are a BWY member.

Facing & Overcoming Challenges in Daily Life with Yoga: Swami Vedantananda

  • Well House Yoga Space (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The Bhagavad Gita says, Life is a Challenge – Meet it.

Life is full of ups and downs and our challenges can sometimes feel in surmountable.

Whether our challenges are personal – paying the bills, ill health, loss of a job, loss of loved ones, or global – environmental disasters, the News or the state of the world and so on we are tossed around by all that life throws at us.

We are often driven by the desire for success or fear of failure, in our professional or personal lives. The Bhagavad Gita teaches us to focus on our actions and duties, rather than being overly worried about the outcomes.

This approach leads us to a more fulfilling life, free from the anxieties of constant expectation.

Through Yoga we can be aware of our inner world, to go within and connect with something greater than ourselves.

As we establish ourselves in this inner unity and tranquillity, we will experience Health, Happiness and Harmony.

Cost: £150 for the weekend

It is possible to enrol for one or the other of the days. Preference will be given to those booking for the weekend. Daily price: £85

How to enrol: Please contact swamivedantananda@gmail.com Payment of a non-refundable deposit of £75 will secure your booking and the balance is to be paid by 18 May 2025.

Winter Wellbeing Half Day retreat: Revival Nidra in collaboration with Sound Healing Practitioner Anna Beith

As we move through Autumn into the Winter months, the trees close their buds for rest, conserve their energy and turn inwards. Animals hibernate or limit their activities, increase rest and prepare for the cold months ahead. We humans, in many respects have lost the capacity to follow this path. We power on as if nothing has changed and ignore the demands of the body to rest and restore. If anything, we step up the pace!

How would it be if we connected to the messages that the plants, the trees, the birds and animals that surround us hold? To turn inwards, to reflect, to re-calibrate, to restore within the tranquil serenity of Well House Yoga Space, Harrogate; a re-set for the nervous system.

You are invited to join Leanne of Revival Nidra and sound healing facilitator Anna for a magical morning of reflection, integration and restoration.

This offering is intended to create a space for you to reflect on the earlier months of the year and prepare for the colder months ahead, in the way that nature intended. We will open the day with a cacao ceremony to allow space for your reflections and intentions to arise, inviting in the medicine of cacao to open your heart-space and awaken your inner wisdom, guiding you to the cultivation of a sankalpa to carry into the Winter months.

Following gentle movement and breath work to prepare the body for rest, we will settle into the ancient practice of yoga nidra, guiding us on a blissful journey into deep rest. Anna will create an ethereal soundscape using a specially selected collection of Crystal Tones crystal alchemy bowls to accompany and support you on your journey and help you to integrate the experience on a cellular level.

Expect blissful soundscapes, deeply visual powerful visualisations accompanied by inspiring and insightful poetry. There will also be an abundance of tea and delicious snacks to leave you feeling nourished and nurtured as we mark the transition into winter.

Plan of events –

Opening ceremony, intention settings, journaling

Short gentle flow

Break – tea, chat and vegan nibbles

Guided breath work

Yoga nidra and full sound bath

Join us for Renew and Bloom, a one-day retreat dedicated to preparing for the arrival of Spring—the season of hope, renewal, and new beginnings. As we approach the Spring Equinox, a moment of perfect balance between light and dark, we’re inspired by the promise of longer, warmer days ahead. What seeds do you want to plant and nurture over the coming months?

We’ll start our day with a refreshing smoothie and an uplifting breath practice (pranayama) to awaken our energy and set a positive tone. Through guided meditation, we’ll explore our visions for growth and set meaningful intentions for the season ahead. To deepen this connection and seal our intentions we’ll enjoy the ancient tradition of Ceremonial Cacao, ethically sourced from a farm in Belize that holds a special place in my heart.

Following this, we’ll move into a grounding yet energising yoga practice, designed to support personal growth. A nourishing, seasonal lunch, lovingly prepared by Julie of Bilberry Bee, will refresh and restore us for the afternoon. As our day progresses, we’ll embrace more grounding practices, closing with a deeply restorative Savasana and a balancing Yoga Nidra to guide us into rest and renewal.

We’ll end the retreat with tea, delicious treats, and journaling—a space to reflect on our intentions set and carry the energy of the day forward into Spring. Let’s welcome the season together—balancing body, mind, and spirit for the season ahead.

Cost: £75

Proud Yoga Winter Hideaway: Iain Ross (Proud Yoga)

Come together for a day of Yoga that will cultivate deep rest and restoration, before we come into bloom in springtime.

We’ll begin our day with a powerful practice of Hatha and Kriya Yoga, working with our energetic bodies to restore balance and calm.

After practice will be a discussion on Yoga philosophy, followed by 108 rounds of the Ganesha Prayer into a meditation, to identify and remove any obstacles we might be facing this year.

We’ll then break for a nourishing lunch with tea and cakes and plenty of chit chat, before a mindful walk in the surround North York Moors to clear the mind and take in the joys of winter.

Returning to base in the afternoon, we’ll set up for a blissful afternoon of restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. We’ll set heartfelt intentions for the year ahead, leaving with a sense of total rest and rejuvenation.

The Body Speaks....Are you Listening? - Lisa Milnor

A three hour workshop offering simple yet profound practices to awaken to the natural intelligence of the body, opening to the guidance to live a more engaged and vital life.

Rarely are we fully present to the body’s messages and the ability to tune into its innate intelligence.  Yet when we do, it opens a whole new approach to living that guides us to be more present and able to meet life’s curve balls with greater resilience and equanimity.

Together we will create a space for exploration and expression, an opportunity to allow emotional energies to be released and transmuted.  We will experience some simple and transformational practices such as TRE (Tension/Trauma Release Exercise) which activates the natural tremoring mechanism in the body, calming down the nervous system and allowing blocked energies to move more freely.

In a safe and playful way, we will open to those areas of life we often label difficult and that we resist with various avoidance activities.  We will begin to get comfortable with the uncomfortable.  As we listen more deeply to what the body wants us to know, we will naturally come to recognise the essence of our Being, that which is aware of all the emotional, mental and physical energies that shape our life.

Are you ready to release old stuck energies that create illness and dis-ease? Are you ready to process old limiting beliefs that keep us stuck in the stories of suffering. Are you ready to awaken to your true vital essence? The body is speaking….are you ready to listen?

Previous participants experience:

“The space felt safe and supportive and your welcome and kindness from the intro to the event and through the morning was fundamental to the sense of safety. I felt there was an unusually high degree of openness from early on in participants, which helped us all get more from the morning.   I met some lovely people, had some much needed time for myself, and came away feeling much more whole and embodied.”  Marion T-R

Attending Lisa's TRE workshop was a very life affirming experience which resulted in both physical and mental benefits. Although I felt tired afterwards, the following day I felt full of energy and motivation. Throughout the whole morning I felt comfortable and cared for and I cannot recommend Lisa's workshops highly enough.”  Pip C

“Lisa skilfully navigated and held difficult emotions in a way that created an atmosphere of total and utter safety, freeing space for us to immerse into feeling and listening to our bodies.  The workshop gave space for renewed and focused time to connect to the body, to listen to its messages and to understand the impact of life events / pressures and stresses.  If you want to explore more about what your body can tell you in a playful, enjoyable, warm and caring environment sign up!”  Helen H

Maximum number of participants is 12

Cost: £45

You are welcome to arrive any time from 9am for a 9.30am start.  Refreshments will be available throughout the event.  We will finish at 12.30 and if you wish to stay on for lunch there is a small kitchen/dining area with crockery, cutlery and a kettle but no cooking facilities.

Please contact Lisa at lisa.milnor@shapingclarity.com or mobile 07803721135 for more information and to book your place.
